I didn't think I was going to like Crazy, Stupid, Love when we popped it into the DVD player last night.
I loved it! It was so cute. Similar to Love Actually, it covers relationships from every angle. A married couple going through a mid-life crisis, a teenage crush (actually a teenage love triangle), a womanizer, a professional woman with a boring boyfriend, office romance, and a lonely slightly crazed woman.
It was funny, it had unexpected twists, the characters made mistakes, they worked through issues, and everyone turned out as better people in the end. It was very "real" and that's what made it perfect.
I loved the way it was written. Steve Carrell's character, Cal, is the primary focus of the story. The movie shows his different relationships with everyone. The inside jokes with his wife about switching babies in the hospital, playing catch with his son and talking about women, even how he interacts with the womanizer who helps him turn his life around. Each character, each relationship showed a history and depth that you don't often get in romcoms.
Watch the movie, you will like it. Don't believe me? Amazon reviewers currently have it at 4 stars out of 188 reviews.

Loved that movie.
I loved this movie! This was a good example of how to do a romcom without making it seem repetitive. It was funny to me how Ryan Gosling was teaching Steve Carrell the ways to get around. I have to say the kid who was in love with his babysitter got on my nerves a bit. If that is how kids are these days then yikes. Anyways, I used my Blockbuster Movie Pass to rent this and I’m probably going to be renting it again very soon. What is great about the Blockbuster Movie Pass is it lets me stream many different movies to my TV, along with being able to rent movies like Crazy, Stupid, Love in store or by mail. Even if I didn’t work for DISH, I would have to have the Blockbuster Movie Pass because it is very convenient being able to see almost any movie I want whenever I want!
