Jean Trivet

Look! I made a trivet out of old jeans.

I thought about posting a step-by-step photo tutorial like I normally do, but this is stupidly easy.

You'll need about two pairs of old jeans. If you only have one pair, make a coaster. If you have more than two pairs, make a mat for your dog's bowl.

Cut the hem off the jeans and the inseam too. Also cut the butt seam. Sew all the ends together to get one big, long piece of jean hem. It doesn't matter how sloppy the sewing is. No one will ever see it. I used a zig-zag stitch with some brown thread.

Get your Elmer's glue and squeeze a line of glue down the length of the jean hem. You may want to do this in increments of 10-12 inches. Then roll tightly. Your fingers should be covered in glue and blue fuzz.

The more you do, the harder it will be to keep the roll even. Occasionally stop and realign the center of the wheel. When you're done, hold the wheel together with three rubber bands. Let it dry for at least 30 minutes.

Now put a hot sauce pan on it.
